gardening calendar

Plant and transplant shrubs, trees, lawns
and leafy, juicy and fleshy vegetables
that produce their crops ABOVE the
ground. Take and propagate cuttings.
Plant and transplant all flowers, whether
they are annuals, perennials or bulbs.
Plant and transplant all types
of herbs, except garlic.
Sow all types of seed-producing
crops, including grains, cereals, peas,
broad beans, corn and trees that
produce edible nuts such as almonds,
pecans, macadamias and walnuts.
Plant all types of root vegetables that
produce their crops BELOW the ground
such as potatoes, onions, carrots,
beetroot, etc. This includes the herb
garlic. If you wish to plant bulbs for
propagation and development rather
than for flowers, this is the time to do so.
A reasonably favourable period for
planting the previously mentioned
root vegetables. However, the days
marked in brown are better.
Plant or transplant all types of fruit
trees.
Note:
Tomatoes can also be
sown now. Grapes will be better if
planted on the days marked in yellow.
Do not plant or transplant
anything during this period.
Destroy weeds, pests and noxious
growth. Burn off and cut lawns. Do not
plant or transplant anything. Prepare
garden beds for future planting.
The moon's WAXING cycle.
The moon's WANING cycle.
On the days when there are no colours
in the moon-gardening calendar, you
can either weed and feed or take time
off from the garden for other activities.

The 12 signs of the zodiac are divided into four groups: fire, air, earth and water
Fire
signs Aries and Sagittarius are in
harmony with all types of fruit. The other
fire sign, Leo, is in harmony with nuts and
all seed-producing crops.
Air
signs Libra, Aquarius and Gemini are in
harmony with plants that produce flowers
and perfumes.
Earth signs Capricorn and Taurus are in
harmony with all root vegetables that produce
their crops below the ground, including the
herb garlic. The other earth sign, Virgo, is in
harmony with all types of herbs.
Water signs Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces
are in harmony with above-ground crops,
including trees, shrubs, lawns and leafy, juicy
and fleshy vegetables.
By following the timing and activity
associated with each colour in the moon-
gardening calendar, you will obtain the best
possible results in your garden.
Times given in the moon-gardening calendar are in Eastern Standard Time, EST. This applies to NSW, the
ACT, Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania. If you live in South Australia or the Northern Territory, deduct half
an hour. If you live in Western Australia, deduct two hours. During Daylight Saving Time, add one hour.
The times of the new moon, full moon, first quarter and last quarter are shown in light blue on the
chart. They are adverse times for sowing seeds, planting or transplanting anything.
These symbols indicate which part of the zodiac the moon is in on a particular day
